How to Install the Pollen Trap

Pollen Trap Installation Instructions:

  1. Ensure bees have returned to the hive before installation to avoid disorientation caused by the new trap.
    For the same reason, do not install or remove the pollen trap on windy days or during the flowering period when bees are actively collecting pollen.
  2. Remove the rubber bands from the pollen trap.
  3. Flip the side panels (wings) backward.
  4. Align the pegs on the filter with the holes at the center of each side wing and snap them into place.
  5. Attach the nozzle to one end of the trap.
  6. Slide the top panel into place to serve as the ceiling for the trap.
  7. Test the nozzle by rotating the filter 90 degrees forward, then back 90 degrees.
  8. Install the two connectors into the pre-drilled holes at the bottom on both sides. (By the way, if you need to remove a connector, use a crowbar to pry up one end first — it’s very difficult to remove by hand alone.)
  9. This device will be hung on nails that are attached to the beehive. Use the included panel to press firmly against one side of the hive (pay attention to left and right orientation). Drill the nails into the positions marked “LANG SHP”. Repeat the same action on the other side. Finally, press the device from top to bottom against the beehive to complete the installation.
  10. Align the tray with the connector slots and push it in. This part is designed like a drawer, so it can be easily slid in and out.
  11. Leave the filter parallel to the ground for 5-7 days to allow bees to easily enter and exit, helping them adjust to the trap.
  12. After 5-7 days, rotate the nozzle to close the filter, allowing the bees to pass through the designed holes. You can now begin harvesting pollen.
